New England Artisan Web was founded by Dwayne Bailey in 2007. Dwayne has 15 years of experience in writing computer software and has designed and built numerous web sites. In 2004 Dwayne decided to make a career change and applied to the Cabinet and Furniture Making program at the prestigious North Bennet St. School. After graduation he joined the Fort Point Cabinetmakers cooperative in South Boston where he continues to work handcrafting fine furniture and cabinetry.
During his time at North Bennet St. School Dwayne saw how many folks around him were struggling to get their web presence started. Most of them lacked the knowledge to do the work themselves and couldn't justify the high costs that most web designers charge. Dwayne put together a presentation that he still gives annually at the school outlining the process of setting up a website. While this presentation helped to give a better understanding of all the steps involved, for most people, more help was needed.
So while furniture making is still his true love and takes up most of his time, Dwayne decided to start NEAW in hopes of helping other craftspeople to get past the obstacles that keep them off the internet.
